Rev. John Murray's NEFF MH LINE - Nov 29 1999, p21 -
We believe this information is incorrect:
".43 Christiana NEFF was born in Lehigh Co. PA Christiana died 1854 in OH. She married Henry BRUNSTETTER 1790 in Lehigh Co. PA He was born 1770 in Lehigh Co. PA. Henry died 1833 in OH. They had four children."
Correction:
Henry Brunstetter married Mary Magdalena [Polly] Neff b. abt 1771. Her death date could very well be 1854 although we have not found a death date. She appears in an 1850 census and is not listed in the 1860 census. John and Jacob were nephews - not sons.
.M431 John BRUNSTETTER b. 1792
.M432 Jacob BRUNSTETTER b. 1792
.M433 Henry BRUNSTETTER b. 1798
.M434 Mary BRUNSTETTER b. 1799

Note the age gap between "Polly" and Margaret. If Mary Magdalena "Polly" Neff is the daughter of Elizabeth, it is odd that she bears the name of her future step-mother.
Conrad and his wife Magdalena [nee Weaver] came to Ohio about 1804. Their family included Margaret, 17; Henry, 15; Mary, 13; Conrad Jr., 10 and John, 8.
At the same time Mary Magdalena [Polly] nee Neff, 33, and now married to Henry Brunstetter, joined them and came to Ohio with their two young children. [The children from Conrad's first marriage were adults and they were established in Pennsylvania.]

To do list:
See if any deed work has been done in Pennsylvania - that appears to be the only way to uncover any new information [unless a family bible miraculously appears]
[It is of particular interest that Melvin Megown said that Raymond Hollenbach told him, in a personal interview - not documented - that "the Brunstetters lived over the hill from the Neff's - they were neighbors"]

In 1810 Swiss-German settlers organized the Zion Lutheran and Reformed Church and built a log church. The Church was destroyed by fire in 1845, but the cemetery that was in its churchyard remains. Some of the old stones have German inscriptions.
On the 2nd of April 1845 a fire destroyed the log church and the records, and on the 26th of June that same year the cornerstone was laid for a new church across the road. On the 14th of December 1894 fire again destroyed the church and records. The Lutheran congregation had declined in the late 1800's and this time the Reformed congregation purchased the Lutheran interest and built their own church…ending an 84 year union of the congregations
