My grandmother, Laura Mildred Noll Neff (dau of Charles Edward Noll) wrote an undated (circa 1952) family tree for the Noll family. The last typewritten entry is for 1952. I have the original. Laura died in 1973. My father, her son, Robert H. Neff, updated it in "Robert Neff's Bits and Pieces" in 1996.
I interviewed Chris Noll in 2002 ([330-533-7142] 230 E. Main St., Canfield, OH 44406) and he added the birth information for his children and for his sister, Suzanne's children.
At the same time I contacted Roy and Ray Deming. No further information.
The genealogy that is recorded here emanates from these sources.
In my possession is also a small photo dated 1920 with a picture "Noll's Sisters-Brothers". In the photo are Anna, Mary, Lou, John, Will, Charles and George.
One other item of to note is that my father remembers that one of the Noll brothers had a furnace manufacturing business in Youngstown, OH. It was located where the Colonial House restaurant is today, 2619, Market St. There is a rail line behind the restaurant and the location makes sense.

Hudson J. Winnett and his grandson, H. Winnett Orr (photos available)
Probable sources for the middle names of Anna Winnett Noll and Robert Hudson Neff
Note: My father had always been told that he had been named after a relative who lived in Nebraska and was a doctor and mayor. No further info till now. Our family also always wondered how our Aunt Anna Noll received her middle name, Winnett. No further info till now.
My grandmother, Laura Noll Neff, kept an unidentified photo, which could be from her Noll (paternal), or her Hill (maternal) side. (Her mother was Gemella Hill.) On the back of this small photo, Grandmother Laura wrote, " 1885 - Auntie Shepard, Aunt Ora Winnett and Gemella Hill Noll."
These must be the sources for the names Hudson and Winnett.
I (Jennifer Neff 2003) am in possession of the photo.

Farmington Poet - Grace Noll Crowell
www.geocities.com/fahsmn/farmington_poet.htm
We have always been curious if we have a Noll connection with Grace Noll Crowell, who is an internationally known poet. Although she is considered a minor poet today, in the 1940's she was called “the most popular writer of verse in America.” She was selected as one of the ten outstanding American Women in 1938.
I have not found a bloodline connection to date. J.L.N. 2003

Note on 11 July 2003:
In researching “Spalter and Noll”, fresco painters, in Pittsburgh from about 1875 to 1922, I called Pittsburgh's Carnegie Library Dept. of Art and Music, they had no information, but they provided many leads. To date none of those contacts have born fruit.
I have a picture of “Spalter and Noll” in an 1875 photo.
A photo antiquities expert, Frank Watters, said that the photo is called a “Cabinet Photo”.
It is a 6 x 4 inch sepia formal photograph of “John Spalter and Charles Noll, business partners”, and shows Charles, at about the age of 20, seated on a heavily fringed chair and Spalter leaning on the chair with his waistcoat open, and pocket watch showing. A heavily tasseled drape is in the background.
The back of the photo is also interesting. It says “Uniontown, Penna.” and has an etching of “Lingo's Photograph Gallery”, “Crosscup & West, Phila”.
